Why not use the readers of this blog for a pre-launch and ask *them* for instance if the obvious flaws are acceptable or not. bottomline, ask for help to validate a go-live.

I was so scared of releasing my baby into the world when I wasn’t sure it was mature enough. I am like a strict Mediterranean mother unwilling to let her 17 year old daughter out past 10pm, as she surely isn’t ready for that kind of exposure. (and yes, I was that 17 year old, surely I would have learnt!)

But the truth is, releasing to you – dear readers – is the equivalent of letting my 17 year old daughter out with a trusted chaperone. So, I think I can cope with that.

So, with a little fanfare (ta-daaaaaaa), here is my baby given birth.

Its been a long time since we started developing my site… many many months. It is a relatively complex application, and I have the extra challenge of financing it with my own savings, and using a (brilliant) team of developers in Europe, whilst I sit here in Sydney… so its not too terrible that its taken so long. If I had more money to throw at the problem, I could be more demanding and more tough, but the developers are working as hard as they can whilst no doubt also balancing the demands of more profitable projects than mine is at the moment. So this is how it is.

Apologies again for my lax communication. Its just that the message has not changed overly. I’m still almost there, but not quite ready for public consumption. Sometimes I think its just that I’m terribly pedantic and proud, but there are some pretty major bugs in it still, which are getting worked on, but just not there yet…

What I am trying to do at the moment is just focus on obvious bugs that would impede a user’s ability to use or understand the application. I tend to get distracted by smallish design issues, which take up the developers time.
